The Coeur d’Alene Marathon/Half Marathon offers one of the most spectacular events in the country. At an elevation of 2300 feet above sea level, the resort community of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, resting on the shores of spectacular Lake Coeur d’Alene, welcomes visitors to a plethora of vacation and recreational activities. The welcoming community and natural beauty have drawn events such as the Ironman USA Triathlon Coeur d'Alene, held here each year in June.

The Coeur d’Alene Marathon/Half Marathon course begins and ends at the North Idaho College campus, located at the mouth of the Spokane River. The course loops through beautiful neighborhoods and turns onto the North Idaho Centennial Trail, which follows the shoreline of the pristine Lake Coeur d'Alene.

North Idaho enjoys a true four-season climate with cool mountain evenings. May’s average temperature is 69 degrees while June jumps to 76. Average precipitation during “Marathon time” is 2 inches per month.

Coeur d'Alene is always abuzz with activity, including art shows, athletic events, outdoor fun, and an endless list of things to see and do. In addition to the many local activities, Silverwood theme park is located just a few miles to the north, and many marathon participants enjoy the relaxing excitement of a day with the family during their stay.

Accommodations in Coeur d'Alene range from quaint bed and breakfast hideaways to guest ranches to a world-class resort, the world-famous Coeur d'Alene Resort, an 18-story architectural masterpiece at the edge of the lake.

For your meals, whether your tastes lean toward fresh Northwest salmon, Idaho potato pizza, huckleberry pancakes, or a juicy Priest River buffalo steak, there's something for everyone. From award-winning chefs to sidewalk vendors, the finest steaks to world famous hamburgers, Coeur d’Alene has it all.

The Coeur d’Alene Marathon/Half Marathon is an event, not only for the many participants who return year after year, but for the entire family. We’ll see you in May.
